I grew up in Wentzville, Missouri. After high school I moved to Springfield to study printmaking in college. There I learned the art of making copper plate etchings, a method of printing dating back to 1400’s. Kinda useless now days employment wise, but I was more interested in learning an art-form than “succeeding” financially. As I developed my artistic style in college I also developed a strong desire to see more of the country and to get out of the Midwest. Having no real idea where to go or what to do with my life, me and my roommate at the time began planning a bike trip to the west coast during my senior year of college. After graduation we hit the road. The trip was a humbling experience. Having never driven west of Kansas, I had no idea how vast and desolate the southwest could be. The aesthetic of western landscape and the energy I felt from the people I met along the way inspired me. I knew the next stop in life would be somewhere in Utah, Colorado or Arizona. I moved to Colorado in August 2016 and have ZERO regrets about it.
