Hi, I’m Nick May, owner of Walls by Design, Denver’s premier painting company. I’m thrilled to introduce my new show, The Denver Home Show with Nick May, where I’ll share insider tips, trends, and resources to help you make the most of your home.
I’ll cover everything from hiring contractors to the latest flooring trends and where to find unique home decor in Denver. Let’s dive in!
Hire the Right Contractor
Hiring a contractor can feel overwhelming, but it doesn’t have to be. Here’s my top tip: check their Google Business Profile reviews.
-
Why It Matters: Reviews give you insight into a company’s reliability, quality of work, and customer service.
-
What to Look For:
-
Quantity: A high number of reviews indicates experience.
-
Quality: Look for detailed reviews that mention specific projects or team members.
-
Red Flags: A few negative reviews are normal, but pay attention to recurring issues.
-
-
Pro Tip: Don’t just skim the star ratings—read the reviews to understand the full story.
Denver’s Real Estate Market Update
What Is LVT?
Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT) is a durable, versatile flooring option that perfectly mimics the look of hardwood or traditional tile. It’s an excellent choice for high-traffic areas, basements, and even rental properties!
Why It’s Gaining Popularity in 2025:
- Durability: LVT is highly resistant to scratches, stains, and water damage, making it perfect for active homes and commercial spaces.
- Soundproofing: Many LVT products come with built-in sound-dampening features, which can help reduce noise—ideal for multi-story homes or apartments.
- Aesthetic Appeal: With an incredible variety of styles, textures, and finishes, LVT allows you to create the perfect look without breaking the bank.
My Experience: I recently installed LVT in my cabin, and I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. It looks amazing and has held up really well to both the foot traffic and changing conditions in the space.
