Why Walls by Design Is Not Your Average Painting Contractor
Most homeowners do not spend much time thinking about hiring a painting contractor—until they need one.
Then suddenly, the questions arrive:
Will they show up when they say they will?
Will they protect the floors?
Will the color look right in my house?
And will I still be finding blue painter’s tape behind the refrigerator six months from now?
Fair questions.
A recent industry survey from one of the painting trade’s leading publications, inPAINT Magazine, gives a helpful look at how painting contractors operate across the country. And while there are plenty of good contractors out there, the survey also makes something clear: Walls by Design was built to be a different kind of painting company.
For us, that difference comes down to how we take care of your home—and you. Different in the ways that matter when people are working inside your home.
Great paint starts with choosing great paint
One of the more telling survey findings was how contractors make purchasing decisions. When quality is considered equal, price was the largest single driver—33% of respondents said it guided their buying decisions more than anything else.
We understand watching costs. Every responsible company should.
But at Walls by Design, we do not believe paint quality is “equal” simply because two cans sit next to each other on a shelf.
That is why we choose Benjamin Moore paint 100% of the time. We buy the best products because they help us deliver the best finish, better durability, dependable color, and results we are proud to stand behind.
Could another paint brand cost less? Sometimes.
Could a homeowner request a different brand? Certainly. Our warranty is based on the Benjamin Moore products and application system we use. If a homeowner requests another product, we need to explain how that affects warranty coverage before moving forward. Our warranty is a promise—not a marketing line—and we take it seriously.
The short version: we do not cut corners on the material that stays on your walls long after the crew has gone home.
The right color matters just as much as straight lines
The inPAINT survey also found that homeowners frequently ask painting contractors for help choosing colors. That should come as no surprise.
Paint color is one of the most personal decisions you can make in a home. A color can make a room feel warmer, cleaner, brighter, calmer, more current—or make you wonder why it looked so different on that tiny paint chip.
At Walls by Design, we do not hand you a fan deck and wish you luck.
We send our on-staff interior designer to walk you through the color-selection process. She helps you consider light, existing finishes, furnishings, adjoining rooms, and the feeling you want the space to have. That gives you more confidence before the first gallon is opened.
Because finding the right color is every bit as important as clean lines and a clean home when the project is complete.
We are not here for a one-time transaction
The survey also showed that only 42% of contractors follow up with past customers often. Seventeen percent said they almost never do.
For us, staying in touch is part of taking care of a home over time—and that’s where Walls by Design is intentionally different.
We have been serving Denver-area homeowners since 1999, and our goal has never been to paint a room, collect a check, and disappear into the mist like a subcontractor in a 1980s sitcom.
We want to be your painter for life.
Your home evolves. You may start with a living room, then update the bedrooms, paint the cabinets, repaint the exterior, or finally tackle that wallpaper you have been politely ignoring since 2009. When the next project comes up, you should already know exactly who to call.
That is why we offer free annual touch-ups and a lifetime warranty on qualifying interior and cabinet work for the original homeowner.
A better experience with your painting contractor
Of course, we care about craftsmanship. Proper preparation, careful repair work, smooth finishes, and crisp lines are non-negotiable.
But a beautiful result should not require a chaotic experience.
We believe your home should be protected. Your questions should be answered. Your project should be organized. And when we leave, your home should feel better than when we arrived—not like it survived a minor construction event.
That is the Walls by Design difference.
If you are looking for more than a normal painting contractor, we would love to talk.
